Hoosick Falls – Mary P. Cook, 77, died Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, VT. She formerly resided on Third Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, and was the wife of the late Richard Cook.

Crime Spree In Hoosick Falls

Before closing the Hoosick Falls Village Board meeting Tuesday evening Mayor Laura Reynolds, on advice from Police Chief Robert Whalen, suggested residents be sure to lock their homes and cars in the future. Leaving cars and homes unlocked in small towns and villages has been a way of life for generations. The Mayor lamented the fact this is no longer advisable. Pellet Store Owner To Make Restitution

According to Rensselaer County District Attorney Richard McNally the case against Dennis Murray of Bovie Hill Road, owner of Valley Hearth and Pellet, Inc. on Church St. has been adjourned until January 2009 to “give him an opportunity to satisfy his obligations.”

Paul Haynes Appointed To Hoosick Falls Village Board

Santa Visits Hoosick Falls

Hoosick Falls was abuzz Friday evening, December 5. Activities began at 6 pm when Mayor Laura Reynolds and Santa Claus, assisted by little Caroline Still, elf Eric Kaufman and Conner McEvoy, waited for the sound of the fire truck horn to light the Village tree in the gazebo in Wood Park. Miss Olivia’s Students Dance In Professional Nutcracker

Three students from the British School of Ballet in Hoosick Falls auditioned for parts in the Christmas ballet The Nutcracker. All the girls received parts. Over 200 students from different ballet schools auditioned, and about 40 students were chosen.
