Hoosick Falls – Mary P. Cook, 77, died Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, VT. She formerly resided on Third Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, and was the wife of the late Richard Cook.

Before closing the Hoosick Falls Village Board meeting Tuesday evening Mayor Laura Reynolds, on advice from Police Chief Robert Whalen, suggested residents be sure to lock their homes and cars in the future. Leaving cars and homes unlocked in small towns and villages has been a way of life for generations. The Mayor lamented the fact this is no longer advisable. Miss Olivia’s Students Dance In Professional Nutcracker
Three students from the British School of Ballet in Hoosick Falls auditioned for parts in the Christmas ballet The Nutcracker. All the girls received parts. Over 200 students from different ballet schools auditioned, and about 40 students were chosen.
