The Cheney Library Festival Of Wreathes

The Cheney Library Festival of Wreathes is on November 3. Forty wreathes will be auctioned. A preview hour begins in the Immaculate Conception Church hall on Main Street at 6:30 and the auction will start at 7:30 pm.

Calling All Ghosts, Ghouls And Goblins

Gather your wigs, capes, horns and broomsticks because HAYC3 and the Town of Hoosick will be hosting the annual Halloween Parade on October 30. The parade will start at 6 pm at Wood Park. HAYC3 Is Open For Basketball Season!

Registration is now open for the HAYC3 basketball program.  This fun, recreational program geared toward improving skills and teamwork through weekly practices and league games is open to youth from kindergarten through eighth grade.
The program for children in grades 3 to 8 begins with mandatory clinics on Saturday, November 3 and 10. The season for kindergarten through second grade starts on Saturday, December 1.  The boys’ seventh and eighth grade travel team skills development, practices and games will begin on Saturday, December 1.

Johnsonville Rescue Squad Breakfast

The Johnsonville Rescue Squad located at 4 River Road is holding its monthly breakfast  on Sunday, November 4, from 7:30 to 11:30 am. The cost for adults is $6, children $3. Holiday Dried Flower Designs To Benefit Scholarship Fund

Members of the Cambridge Area Branch of the Woman’s National Farm and Garden Association held a floral design workshop on Thursday, October 11. Several members gathered at the Wood Park meeting room to create designs using dried plant material. These arrangements, created for the fall and winter holiday season, will be sold at a Silent Auction at the Cambridge Branch of the Glens Falls National Bank. The proceeds will benefit the Branch’s Scholarship Fund.

Travels With A Masked Man – A Look Behind The Curtain Of The 1960s CIA

Hubbard Hall Theater Company Artistic Director John Hadden brings us a new version of his solo theater piece, Travels with a Masked Man, based upon interviews with his father who was the CIA station chief in Israel during the 1967 Six Day War. It is a play about deception, “the game” of espionage and rough filial love.

Lots Of Food In The Yellow Bus

On Sunday afternoon,  October 7, Dianne Hosterman of the HACA Food Closet looked a little overwhelmed as the bags and boxes were unloaded from the big yellow school bus. Lauren Davendonis, Madison Greenwood, Joyce Brewer, Sam Brewer and Janet Deluca unloaded bag after bag after bag of canned and boxed foods. Matt Brewster, Drew Phillips and Levi Brewster carried in the boxes loaded with foodstuffs. Soon the floor was covered with almost 125 bags and 45 boxes of everyday food items, essential to so many families in need.
