Deadline For Walter A. Wood Alumni Reunion Is June 1

The Walter A. Wood Alumni Reunion will be held on Saturday, June 9, at the Pittstown Volunteer Emergency Corps Building. Dinner will be served at 12:30 pm. Special classes to be recognized are the graduating classes of 1962, 1952, 1941 and prior years. Anyone who graduated 50 years ago or earlier and did not receive a letter and is interested in attending, please contact Mrs. Janice Tate at 518-686-7036.  Reservations close on June 1.

St. Mary’s Academy Funtastic Fair

St. Mary’s Academy has set the date! This year’s Funtastic Fair is scheduled for Friday, June 8, and Saturday, June 9, from 5 to 10 pm. We’ve added more amusement rides this year, along with two nights of fun. Friday night there will be a Dodge Ball tournament in the St. Mary’s gymnasium and Saturday night there will be Indoor Laser Tag by Grin Mobile.

North Hoosick Fire Dept. Kids Dance

The North Hoosick Fire Department will hold a kids dance on Friday, June 1, from 7 to 10 pm at the fire station on Rt. 22. Students ages 9 to 14, and who attend the locals schools, are invited.
There are only three more dances left in the school year. The last dance is the annual pool dance at the Town of Hoosick community pool in Hoosick Falls on Friday, July 13.  Tickets for the pool dance can only be purchased at the last two regular dances at the firehouse.

Eagle Bridge – Peter Paul Melesky, 64, passed away after a short illness on May 23, 2012, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albany, NY. Born on December 15, 1947, in Waterbury, CT, he was the son of the late Frank Melesky and Eva (Kukanskis) Melesky, now Eva Blinstrub of Hoosick Falls, NY.

Hoosick Planning Board Meeting – Family Dollar Moving Forward

Clark R. Wilkinson, President of Paragon Civil Engineering, P.C., addressed the Town of Hoosick Planning Board on Monday, May 21, regarding plans for a Family Dollar Store to be located on 2.15 acres of the northwest corner of the former Baker’s Nursery property closest to Barbecue Recreation. Memorial Day Rites 2012

This year Memorial Day Rites will start at 8 am sharp in Wood Park with a flag raising ceremony under the direction of American Legion Post #40 Commander Walter C. Zwinge. Immediately afterwards wreaths will be placed at the new Veterans Memorial Wall. A short service will follow, and the Color Guard will fire a salute for all deceased veterans. Taps will be sounded.

Lions Club 27th Annual 5k Road Race

Conditions for the 27th Annual Hoosick Lions Club 5k Road Race on Saturday, May 19, appeared ideal. Temperatures were in the low 50s; the sun was shining, and there was no humidity.
