Berlin Ends Long Time Arrangement With Taborton Fire District

As of the beginning of this year the Berlin Fire District has ended a 48-year arrangement with the Taborton Fire District to provide fire and emergency protection for residents in the Taborton Road area of Berlin.

Stephentown Volunteer Fire Dept. Historical Information Discovered

The Stephentown Fire District #1 was formed in May of 1939 after a serious fire burned a local business. In July of 1939 the Stephentown Volunteer Fire Department was organized to provide the manpower for the fire engine that was being purchased by the District.   Recently, after the passing of a 50-year member of the Department, records dating back to the original formation were turned over to the Department. Minutes of meetings between 1939 and 1941 are being transcribed.

Petersburgh Boy Scout Troop #222 Excels At The Klondike Derby

On January 29 the Boy Scout Mahikan District hosted over 240 scouts at the annual Klondike Derby at Camp Rotary. The Klondike Derby is a hands-on scout adventure where patrols of scouts compete in winter survival and teamwork challenges.
