AARP Defensive Driving Course In Grafton

Rensselaer County’s Everett Wagar Senior Center, 2 Roxborough Road, Grafton, will be holding an AARP Safe Driving Course, on Thursday, September 30, from 9 am to 3 pm with a break at noon for lunch.
Save up to 10% on your car insurance. The cost will be $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. Please call Penny at 279-3413 for reservations.  Spaces are limited!

Brunswick Elks Auxiliary Chicken Parm

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Brunswick Elks #2556 will hold a Chicken Parm Dinner on Friday, September 17. The Lodge is located at 665 Brunswick Road in Eagle Mills.
Dinner costs $10 for adults, and $5 for children under 12.  You may eat-in or take-out. For more information or reservations, call 283-3598.
Profits from this dinner will help benefit needy families at Christmas.

St. Stanislaw Society Labor Day Clam Steam

Texas Hold’em

The Veterans of Stephentown will start the fall season off with a Texas Hold’em Tournament on Saturday, September 11, in the Stephentown Fire Hall, located on Grange Hall Road in Stephentown. The doors will open at 5 pm and close at 6 pm. Play begins at 6:15 sharp.

Fish Available For Pond Stocking

The Rensselaer County Soil & Water Conservation District’s Annual Fish Stocking Program is currently taking orders for rainbow and brook trout as well as largemouth bass, channel catfish, fathead minnows and crayfish. Orders will be taken up to September 24 with the distribution to be held on October 1 at 1 pm in the parking lot of the Agriculture & Life Sciences Building in Troy.

New Pastor For Methodist Church

The Berlin and Grafton United Methodist Church is pleased to welcome Pastor Joy Lowenthal as its part time permanent pastor. The appointment was made by Bishop Susan Hassinger of the Troy Conference.  Pastor Lowenthal replaces Pastor Kim Kie who has left to pursue her Masters of Divinity Degree at Boston University.
