Men’s Wednesday Night International Bowling League at Hoosick Falls Barbecue Recreation begins September 8. It is a handicap league with one shift and practice beginning at 6:35 pm.

SYC Marching in Disney Parade!
This year the Stephentown Youth Commission will be walking in the annual Firemen’s Muster Parade on September 19, and we are looking for children to walk with us! If you are interested in joining us in the parade, please meet us at St. Joseph’s Cemetery (intersection of Rt. 22 and 43) at 10:30 am. The parade is Disney-themed, and all children should come dressed as their favorite Disney character.
Please join us at the Firemen’s Muster after the parade. It is held at the Stephentown Fire Hall located on Grange Hall Road. This year there will be many fun activities for children. We hope to see you there!
Hike At Cherry Plain
On Saturday, August 28, at 10 am, the Rensselaer Land Trust will lead a walk along a new trail at the Capital District Wildlife Management Area in Cherry Plain. Participants will stroll down an old road less than a mile to picnic at an old dam and mill site. Those interested in a longer hike can cross the brook and hike a few miles back through a forest and bog.

Leverett M. LeBarron
Hoosick – Leverett M. LeBarron, 100, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2010, at his residence on LeBarron Road in Hoosick, NY, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Prentiss) LeBarron, who died in 1974.
Born on LeBarron Road on December 10, 1909, Leverett was the son of the late Earnest and Nora (O’Neil) LeBarron. He attended schools in Potter Hill, Hoosick. Leverett worked for the Rensselaer County Highway Department as an equipment operator, retiring in 1972. Leverett was a member of the Moose Club in Bennington, VT, the Hoosick Grange, the Derby Club and was a Charter Member of the Eagles Aerie # 2467, both in Hoosick Falls, NY.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Harriet was raised in Ozone Park, NY, and attended John Adams High School. She met her husband Richard ice skating and moved to Floral Park, NY, in 1955.
