Historic Wedding Dresses At The Stephentown Historical Society

Anne Kiely will present a program on historic wedding dresses on Monday, June 7, to the Stephentown Historical Society.  Because of a current renovation project at the Heritage Center, the meeting will be held at the Stephentown Fire Hall,  Grange Hall Road, Stephentown. This year marks the 26th anniversary of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life.  Each year our team participates, as well as many others, and “hits the track” at Mount Anthony Union High School for a night of remembrance and fraternity as we raise monies to help find a cure.

The Petersburgh Town Wide Tag Sale and Library Bake, Book and Plant Sale is this Saturday, June 5, from 9 am to 3 pm. Boy Scout Troop 222 will be cooking lunch, grilling up hot dogs, hamburgers and the works! Shop, have lunch and pick up a PVMCC schedule of all our events and programs.
Petersburgh Walkabout
Join the Petersburgh Walkabout! Walkers are needed to walk every road in Petersburgh! By doing two miles each weekday, every road can still be covered before it gets too cool in the fall. It is better to walk with a partner for safety and to prevent backtracking. The first walkers of the day leave the Memorial Hall about 7 am and are generally back by 7:45. The option of an earlier walk is available for those who work an early shift. Call Mary Lou Walters at 658-0136 for ,ore information. T-shirts will be available for those who wish to join the Petersburgh Walkabout.

Sand Lake Historical Society Meeting

Gloria Waldron Hukle who resides in Averill Park will present a program about historical research and some of the characters from each of her books revealing the one that was drawn from old Albany life and who was the sole catalyst for all three works now known as the Waldron Series Books. Funeral Notice For Margaret L. Lombard

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 12, in the Garfield Cemetery at 11 am for Margaret L. “Marge” Lombard, who died on February 26, 2010, at her home. Rev. Susan Schultz, pastor of the Stephentown Federated Church will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Marge is survived by her children, George B. Lombard, Jr. and Marsha and her husband Jeff Henderson.
