Berliners Ponder Important Vote

It’s official. At its meeting on November 12 the Berlin Town Board voted unanimously to set the time and place of the referendum on the use of Capital Reserve Funds to purchase the Berlin Lumber property. The referendum will be held on December 14 with voting from noon to 8 pm in the Town Hall. Absentee ballots must be obtained from the Town Clerk no later than November 30.
An Open House hosted by The Kinderhook Group, Berlin Lumber’s realtor, will be held on Sunday, November 22, so that Town residents can inspect the property before they vote. [Read more…] about Berliners Ponder Important Vote

Controversy Over A Wood Chipping Mill In Stephentown

Mark Frankel of East Road asked why a wood chipping business on Jones Road is still operating after a stop work order was served on it. Frankel and others at the meeting pointed out that the mill is in an R-1 Residential zone and is operating noisily seven days a week and is detrimental to the neighborhood. Litigation Regarding Star Ridge Way

At the Petersburgh Town Board Board meeting on Monday night, Planning Board Chairman Dave Miller spoke to the Board about the road in the Star Ridge development. He said there is litigation going on about it between the developers of the subdivision, Michael and Joan Buzerak, and the five lot owners, which he became involved in because he was asked to give an affidavit about the terms of the Planning Board approval.
