Berlin Library Annual Craft Fair

The Berlin Library Annual Craft Fair, sponsored by the Friends of the Berlin Library, will be held on Saturday, November 14, from 12 to 3 pm. This year’s fair will feature more space for vendor tables and a raffle.

PVMCC Cafe Opens

Veterans Hall Cafe will open Monday, October 19, and each week day there is school.  Stop in between 7 and 9 am for a cup of coffeee and/or a goodie. The Hall is open for walking during that time.

Pilates Classes

Pilates classes have resumed at the Hoosick Youth and Community Center on Tuesday mornings. Instructor Donna Menneto offers two classes each Tuesday, one at 7:30 and one at 8:30 am. Classes are open to anyone of any age and any fitness level. The workout is low impact and will leave participants refreshed, centered and revitalized. There is a weekly fee to participate. For additional information, contact the Youth Center at 518-686-9050.

West Hoosick F.D. Pancake Breakfast

The West Hoosick Fire Department announces an All You Can Eat Breakfast at the firehouse on Sunday, October 18, from 7:30 to 11 am.  This will be our last breakfast for the fall.  The menu includes pancakes, French toast, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, juice, coffee, tea and hot chocolate.  The firehouse is located on Pine Valley Rd. near the intersection of County Routes 109 and 103.  For more information, call the firehouse at 686-1814.

Petersburgh Seniors Join Craft Sale

At the last meeting of the Petersburgh Sunshine Seniors, the decision was made to rent a table at the PVMCC craft sale on December 5.  The Seniors will be offering a craft and pie and cake sale.  There will be a variety of pies as well as some of Pearl Koch’s famous walnut filled cakes. Hiking To The Grafton Fire Tower

The foliage in Grafton is at its peak, and it is spectacular. The trails in Grafton Lakes State Park are a real treat this time of year. Last week the Hudson Valley Community College course for seniors called “Hiking in the Fall with Phil (Fountain)” trekked to the Dickinson Hill Fire Tower, the first of four Tuesday jaunts in October. Hoosick Falls – Donald Myers, 65, died Friday, September 25, 2009, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. He resided at the Crescent Manor Nursing Home in Bennington with his wife Patricia (Yerke) Myers who survives. They had formerly resided in Hoosick Falls, NY.

Robert Rice

Hoosick Falls – Robert (Bob) Rice, 73, died peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, October 8, 2009, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. He had resided on Mechanic Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, with his wife Marguerite (Dooley) Rice, whom he married on June 13, 1959.
