Upbeat Mood At Hoosick Rising Meeting

Positive Water News Feeds Hope Of Rebirth

The Hoosick Rising meeting, held at the Immaculate Conception Church Hall on Tuesday evening, March 22 was upbeat and forward-looking. Hopes were high that the Village and Town are, or will soon be, turning a corner.
The meeting began with an update on the water. The NYSDOH had just reported the results of ten new samples taken from ten different locations in the Village water distribution system. Seven of them were reported as “non-detect,” defined as less than 2 parts per trillion. The other three were 2.12 ppt, 3.77 ppt, and 4.1 ppt. [Read more…] about Upbeat Mood At Hoosick Rising Meeting

Hall And Zlotnick Become Eagle Scouts

Troop 222 has announced that two of its scouts have earned the rank of Eagle Scout. On April 9 at 3 pm at the Berlin High School, the troop will celebrate a double Eagle Court of Honor for Trevar Hall and Michael Zlotnick.
Trevar Hall completed his Eagle project for the Town of Petersburgh by building a lighted Town sign.  Michael Zlotnick completed his Eagle project for the Cherryplain State Park by building a new walking trail along the north side of the lake. One plank of Grafton Town Supervisor Ingrid Gundrum’s campaign platform last fall was to promote a better understanding for all Town Board members of the annual budget. Her idea is that she and the Board should not simply formulate a spending plan in the fall, but also keep a close eye on spending and budgeting throughout the year so that the Board can anticipate trouble coming and make adjustments, and understand the budgetary implications of the decisions they make throughout the year.
