Twenty-fifth Anniversary Parade Looks More Exciting Every Day
The Excelsior Drum and Bugle Corps has joined the list of bands that will be marching in the 25th Annual Hoosick Falls St. Patrick’s Parade March 12, kicking off at 1 pm.
The brass staff for this year includes Jerry Kelsey, Greg Mataruga and Donel Mataruga. The percussion and front ensemble John McFarland, Tim Fountain, and Darien Guy, while the visual and guard staff includes Jason Miller, Donel Mataruga and Ashley White. One of the goals that the Auxiliary volunteers at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation at Hoosick Falls hoped to meet for 2016 has been achieved. A blanket warmer, which will warm up to 25 blankets at a time, has been purchased at a cost of $4,789. The auxiliary wishes to thank all donors for their support in this endeavor. Learning How To Make Maple Syrup At Grafton Lakes State Park

The ins and outs of maple sugaring filled the classroom at the Park Office Saturday, as Park Naturalist Liz Wagner took children and adults through all the steps of making your own maple syrup at home. The afternoon started with a short classroom presentation, then outside to learn to identify a sugar maple tree by its bark, branches and leaves.
