Opening Of The Corkscrew Rail Trail

It’s been a long haul, but last Saturday morning June 6, a piece of the planned Corkscrew Rail Trail was formally opened for public use. Pool Finished And Ready To Open

At the Town of Hoosick Board meeting on Monday, June 8, Town Supervisor Mark Surdam announced that the pool rehabilitation project has been completed. He said there was a walk through the previous Wednesday with the Rensselaer County Department of Health, Laberge, Watson LLC and Town officials and all went well. Coach Baker Fund Events Are This Weekend

The Eighth Annual Coach Baker Fund Weekend will be held this Friday and Saturday June 12 and 13 throughout the Hoosick Falls and Cambridge communities.  The committee for the annual weekend would like to invite both the Hoosick and Cambridge area communities to join in the fun-filled auction and dinner on Friday night at the Hoosick Falls Country Club, and the Saturday golf tournament at the Country Club, and basketball tournament which is being held this year at Cambridge Central School. Colvin Fundraiser Held On A Beautiful Day

The Stephen Colvin Second Annual Flag Football Tournament was held Saturday on the HFCS fields. It was a great success on a gorgeous June day.

The tournament was held to honor Steve Colvin, who was killed in a tragic 2014 skiing accident. Loved by everyone who crossed his path, Steve’s friends and classmates come together each year since to celebrate his life and raise money for a scholarship in his name. Friends Of Dyken Pond Seek Support For Acquisition Of Additional Parcel For Dyken Pond Center

Much of the Grafton Town Meeting was taken up by discussion of whether the Town should support an application for grant funding by the Friends of the Dyken Pond Center to pay for the purchase of an additional parcel to be held for the use and benefit of the Center. Activists Gather Signatures Against Pipeline At Stephentown Transfer Station

Hoosick Falls Central School Sports Awards Banquet

The HFCS sports awards banquet was held Monday evening June 8 in the HFCS gymnasium. The awards were handed out after an excellent meal prepared by the school’s cafeteria staff.
