Local Author – Dr. Stanley Woods-Frankel Thursday, June 18 at 7 pm 

Local author, Dr. Stanley Woods-Frankel, will discuss his second novel, Resurrection of Evil. In his first critically acclaimed novel, False Impressions, Dr. Woods-Frankel introduces readers to forensic dentist Steve Landau as he assists the NYPD to track down a serial killer threatening NYC. The adventure continues in his second book in the Steve Landau Mystery series Resurrection of Evil. On July 2, the Winter Green-up Committee, Cornell Cooperative Extension Albany County and Black Queen Angus Farm, LLC will host a presentation and pasture walk by famed grazier and Holistic Planning expert, Ian Mitchell-Innes.

Ian Mitchell-Innes is a South African who began high stock density grazing on his operation many years ago in an effort to take his farm into both financial profitability and ecological enhancement. An Action-Packed Weekend In Pittstown Features Many Local Riders Competing In Offroad Cycle Racing

The JDay Offroad GP was held over the weekend on Kautz Hollow Road in Pittstown. Almost 500 riders competed in 30 different divisions. Riders from all over the northeast compete and follow the series where events are held. Most events are held in New England. With the lack of rain, conditions were dry and dusty, making visibility difficult for racers and spectators alike. Lions Club Members Receive Service Awards

At the Lions Club meeting on Thursday, June 4, 13 members received recognition for their years of service. Lions are awarded pins and/or chevrons beginning at 10 years of service, and thereafter every five years. Many of these Lions had not received recognition for their service until this event. The Berlin July 4th Parade Committee invites you to tell your Tall Tales with a float in the 2015 parade which kicks off at 11 am on Saturday, July 4th. Tell everyone your tallest tale and maybe even win a cash prize for doing so. There is no entry fee. The Grand Prize float is awarded $125. SMA Second Graders Help Second Chance Animal Shelter

St. Mary's Academy, Hoosick Falls second graders recently held a bake sale in which they raised over $170 for the Second Chance Animal Shelter in Shaftbury, VT.  As part of their service project, the students divided into teams and went shopping for supplies on the shelter's wish list, staying within the teams' budgets. Then, the students brought the supplies they had bought up to the shelter and took a tour to see how the shelter runs and met some of the animals that they had helped.
