The Grafton Community Library, located at 2455 NY Route 2, will be the site of a multi-sale event on Saturday, May 18. Doors open at 8 am for the Plant and Book Sale which will run until 1 pm. Stop by the Library to pick up some fresh reading material as well as plants to enhance your garden. You never know what you will find.
Proceeds from the plant sale will benefit the Lillis Bunce Memorial Award and the Ethel Simmons Award for Grafton high school seniors. The book sale will be in the basement. Village Wide Tag Sale
The annual Village-Wide Tag Sale will be held on Saturday, May 25, in and around the village of Hoosick Falls. This event is organized by HAYC3. A free map of registered sales will be available at the Information Tent in Wood Memorial Park from 9 am to noon on the Tag Sale Day. To register a sale for placement on the official map, pick up a registration form at HAYC3 at 115 Church Street or on their website: www.hayc3.org. There is no fee for map placement. Tag Sale spaces (10’x10′) are also available in Wood Park during the day and can also be picked up at HAYC3 or the website. For more information, call 686-9050.

Story Hour
Pre-school story hour at the Petersburgh Public Library will have the last session of this school year on Tuesday, May 21, at 11 am. Pre-schoolers and their care givers are invited to join us for stories, crafts, activities and snacks. Story hour will resume for summer sessions on Tuesday, July 2, at 11 am.

Giffy’s Chicken Bar-B-Q
The Town of Hoosick Republican Committee will host a Giffy’s Chicken Bar-B-Q on Thursday, May 23, at Liporace’s Getty Station (next to Blue Flame) on Route 22, Hoosick Falls. Meals will include a half barbecued chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, roll, dessert and beverage. Pick up will be from 4 to 6 pm.
Tickets cost $10 each and can be purchased from any Committee member or by calling 518-322-8685 or 686-5992. A limited number of extra tickets will be available on the day of the barbecue. Churchill Cemetery Clean Up
The Lebanon Valley Historical Society IS doing its almost annual cemetery clean up on Saturday, MAY 18.
Help is needed any time between 9 AM through 2 PM, at the Churchill Cemetery at the junction of Churchill and Canaan Roads, New Lebanon.
Please volunteer to help. Bring your own tools if you can. Some tools will be available. A light lunch will be provided.

Grafton VFD And Ladies Auxiliary Breakfast
For Memorial Day weekend the Grafton Volunteer Fire Department along with the Grafton Ladies Auxiliary will be holding an All You Can Eat Buffet Breakfast on Saturday, May 25, from 8 to 11 am at the Grafton VFW – Fire Hall on South Road (County Route 85).
Belgian waffles, pancakes, French toast, eggs (made to order), sausage gravy & biscuits, bacon, sausage, home fries, toast, orange juice, coffee and milk are on the menu. The cost is $9 per adult, $4 for kids 12 and under and free for kids five and under.

Birding For Beginners At Dyken Pond
On Saturday, May 25, a program, Birding for Beginners, will take place at the Dyken Pond Educational Center, 475 Dyken Pond Road in Cropseyville. Participants will start with the basics by learning binocular basics and easy techniques to identify birds by field marks and by bird song. We will identify at least ten new birds! The Rev. William H. O’Dell, Jr.
Grafton – The Rev. William “Billy” H. O’Dell, Jr., 87, of Grafton, NY, went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday morning, May 15, 2013, following a lengthy illness. Born and raised in Grafton, he was the son of the late William H. and Eudella Weeden O’Dell. Billy attended the Grafton one room schoolhouse and Berlin High School. Following school, he worked with his father in the family logging and sawmill business.
