Charlie Hot Dogs

The Petersburgh Fire Auxiliary will host one of its annual Charlie Hot Dog Sales on Friday, May 18, at the Fire House. The sale will begin at 4 pm and last as long as the dogs themselves.
The dogs cost $9 a dozen, $4.50 a ½ dozen or $.75 each.
To place your pre-order, call Janet Snyder at 658-3053 or 339-7311 prior to May 18.

Youth 2 Youth Berlin Teen Night

Youth 2 Youth Berlin is collaborating with the Bridgeway Restaurant to plan a Teen Night for Friday, May 18, from 6 to 9 pm at the Bridgeway Ballroom in Cherry Plain. There will be a DJ, contests, games, prizes, raffles and more.
Tickets cost $3 in advance, $5 at the door. The ticket price includes a slice of pizza and a cup of soda. Additional snacks can be purchased.
Tickets can be purchased through the Y2Y Berlin Group, Biffy Cahill, the Main Office at the Berlin Middle/High School and the Stephentown Memorial Library.

Ken Baker Golf Tournament And Basketball Tournament Is June 16

The fifth annual Ken Baker Golf Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, June 16, at the Hoosick Falls Country Club. The tournament will raise funds for the Coach Baker Fund which benefits the youth of both Hoosick Falls and Cambridge.

Giffy’s Bar-B-Q

The Town of Hoosick Republican Committee will host a Giffy’s Bar-B-Q on Thursday, May 24, at the Grand Union Parking Lot on Route 22, Hoosick.  Meals will include a ½ chicken, a baked potato, coleslaw, a roll, dessert and beverage. Pick up will be from 4 to 6 pm.
Tickets cost $10 each and can be purchased from any Committee member or by calling 518-322-8685 or 686-5992. A limited number of tickets will be available on the day of the Bar-B-Q.

Amadeus Shines In Hubbard Hall Production

Hubbard Hall has opened a new production of Amadeus, and it is a fine piece of work.
The play was written in 1979 by Peter Schaffer, inspired by a short play written by Pushkin in 1830, which Rimsky-Korsakov turned into an opera in 1897. Schaffer’s play opened on Broadway in 1980 in a production starring Ian McKellen, which won five Tony awards. it was made into the movie with which we are all familiar, directed by Milos Forman, in 1984, with a screenplay also written by Peter Schaffer.
