New Town Of Grafton Website In The Works

At a Special Grafton Town Board Meeting held on Wednesday, April 18, the Board met to discuss creating a new web site for the Town. Town Supervisor Ray Darling was unable to attend the meeting so it was run by Deputy Supervisor Cathy Goyer.

Stephentown Volunteer Fire Department Open House

Heavenly Quilters Raise $1,200 For Stephentown Library

Stephentown resident Andrea Beckwith was the winner of the Heavenly Quilters’ annual Quilt Raffle but the community, through the Stephentown Memorial Library, was also a big time winner. The Quilters held their drawing on Tuesday morning at the Federated Church’s Pearce Hall. The beautiful 102 x 106 inch sampler quilt goes to Beckwith and $1,200 in proceeds from the raffle goes to the Library.

Investigation of a Domestic Dispute on Church Street. Arrested was 23 year old Frederick Stager of 114 Church Street, Hoosick Falls, for Assault 3rd, Criminal Trespass and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $500 bail.

New Lebanon Central School Memorial Day Assembly

On Wednesday, May 23, at 9 am, the New Lebanon Jr./Sr. High School will be hosting its second annual Memorial Day Assembly to honor our servicemen and women and all who gave their lives in defense of our country. This year we are proud to welcome Congressman and US Army Veteran Chris Gibson as our featured speaker.
All veterans and current members of any branch of the military are invited to join the American Legion Post #1236 of New Lebanon and the Berkshire Chapter 65 Vietnam Veterans of America in the high school gymnasium as our honored guests. Family and community members are also welcome and encouraged to attend the festivities in memory of our fallen heroes and in celebration of those who serve.

The Petersburgh Public Library annual Plant, Book and Bake Sale will be held Saturday, May 19, from 9 am to 1 pm. Donations of plants and baked goods would be greatly appreciated. Proceeds from the sale will help fund the summer reading program, the purchase of audio books and electronic books for the Kindle®, Nook® and other electronic devices.

Grafton Library Seeks Plant Donations

On Saturday, May 19, from 8 am to 1 pm, the Grafton Community Library will have a plant sale to benefit the Lillis Bunce Memorial Award. The Library will gladly welcome donations of plants during the week of May 13. Plants may be dropped off at the rear of the building, located at 2455 NY Route 2. Call 658-3422 with any questions about plant donations.
