St. Mary’s Academy Annual Spring Auction

St. Mary’s Academy of Hoosick Falls invites you to attend its Annual Spring Auction on Saturday, April 2. Doors open at 6:15 for previewing, with the live auction beginning at 7 pm with our local auctioneer, Ron Seifert. A silent auction will be held simultaneously. One Woman’s Story: Hiking the Appalachian Trail

Local resident Joanna Ezinga of Canaan will present a travelogue about her solo hike of the entire Appalachian Trail on Thursday, April 7, at 7 pm at the New Lebanon Library. The presentation will be followed by discussion and Q&A.
Last March, Ezinga flew to Georgia for what she thought was going to be a month’s hike on the Appalachian Trail. Six months later she had walked to Maine.

Stephentown Historical Society Presents The Silicon Valley Of The Nineteenth Century

P. Thomas Carroll will give a talk, “The Hudson-Mohawk Region: Silicon Valley of the Nineteenth Century,” to the Stephentown Historical Society on Monday, April 4, at 7:30 pm. The meeting will be at the Stephentown Heritage Center on Garfield Road, Stephentown. It is free and open to the public. The building is handicapped accessible. April Events At The New Lebanon Library

• April 1 – Coffeehouse Night – 6 pm.  Features the music of singer/songwriter Linda Worster. Light refreshments will be served.

Nikky Killeen Inducted Into The National Honor Society

Nikky Killeen, 2007 Berlin High School graduate, was inducted into the National Honor Society in Psychology, Psi Chi, at Sage College on March 27.  Research grants and scholarships are made available to members of Psi Chi. You must be in the top 35% of your class and have an overall GPA of 3.0 to be inducted into Psi Chi.
Nikky is the daughter of Kim and Mark Killeen of East Poestenkill.

Stephentown Vets Texas Hold’em

The Veterans of Stephentown  will hold a Texas Hold’em Tournament on Saturday, April 9, in the Stephentown Fire Hall, located on Grange Hall Road in Stephentown. The doors will open at 5 pm and close at 6 pm. Play begins at 6:15 sharp.
A free buffet will be served at the first break.
No advance registration is required, and a donation of $35 per player is accepted. Players can make an additional $10 donation at the door for 1,000 extra chips. This tournament will pay one place for every ten players with a minimum of four places.

Garfield Cemetery Clean-Up Day
