Electronics Housings Arrive On Grange Hall Road

Work progresses on Grange Hall Road in Stephentown, site of Beacon Power’s flywheel-based frequency regulation plant. With flywheel housings now in place for eight of the planned 20 pods, each to contain ten flywheels, the company took delivery on Tuesday, June 29, of two trailer sized electronics housings and four smaller containers housing equipment to provide cooling for the flywheels and the electronics.

Stephentown Historical Society 29th Annual Strawberry Festival

Alysia Parisi Graduates Summa Cum Laude From The University At Albany

Alysia Parisi of Stephentown graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University at Albany.
During its Spring Commencement Weekend May 15-16, the University at Albany awarded 3,141 degrees, including 2,260 undergraduate and 881 graduate degrees. The undergraduates received degrees in 50 different majors, with the largest numbers in psychology, business, communication, English, sociology, economics, history, biology and political science. Twenty military veterans graduated in the class, with 87 students participating in the Presidential Scholars Program. The class became part of the global network of more than 147,000 living alumni.

Elizabeth Rathbun Named To Dean’s List At UNH

Elizabeth Rathbun of Stephentown has earned Highest Honors for the spring semester of the 2009-2010 academic year at the University of New Hampshire.
Students named to the Dean’s List at the University of New Hampshire are students who have earned recognition through their superior scholastic performance. Highest Honors are awarded to students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.7 or better out of a possible 4.0. Students with a 3.5 to 3.69 average are awarded high honors and a students whose grade point average is 3.2 through 3.49 are awarded honors.

Local Graduates From The College Of Saint Rose

Three local residents are among the 1,604 students who, as members of the Class of 2010, received undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificates of advanced study from The College of Saint Rose in Albany.
Karen Day, a resident of Berlin, received a Master of Science in Education.
Katie Danbury, a resident of Grafton, received a Bachelor of Science.
Madalyn Parnas, a resident of Stephentown, received a Bachelor of Arts.
