Stephentown Veterans Dedicate New Monument

At a ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday, November 8, the Veterans of Stephentown dedicated a new monument honoring “Those who served from the Stephentown Area in the American Revolution and Civil War.” This handsome monument honors all the Revolutionary and Civil war veterans but will not be inscribed with their names because at the time Stephentown covered a much larger geographical area, much of which is now in other towns. Stephentown Memorial Library Annual Meeting

New Lebanon – Norma Zanconato Brown MacWhinnie, 95, former owner of Brown’s Restaurant and Dairy Bar in New Lebanon, NY, died on Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at Providence Care Center in Lenox, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 14, at noon in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Route 20, New Lebanon, by Rev. Lee Smith with burial to follow in the Garfield Cemetery in Stephentown, NY. Calling hours will be Friday from 10 to 11:15 am in the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY 43, Stephentown.
