HF Panthers Outscore Chatham, 21 – 8, In Super Bowl

The Hoosick Falls Panthers met the Chatham Panthers last Friday night in a Super Bowl game that both teams have looked forward to for the entire season. Each felt that the game would be close and that a break here or a break there would be the deciding factor. And that’s just how it played out. HF created their own breaks, a result of their awareness and ability to steal the ball, and made the best of them, resulting in a win.

Veterans Ceremony At HFCS

There is nothing that surpasses the enthusiasm of the elementary students at Hoosick Falls Central School when it comes to honoring veterans. On Friday, November 8, they entered the high school auditorium dressed in red, white and blue. Members from each class carried a flag to the front of the stage. Panther Field Hockey Season Ends In Regionals

The HFCS field hockey team made the long trip out to Cicero, just north of Syracuse, to face the Cazenovia Lakers last Saturday on a brisk day. Cazenovia grabbed a 2 – 0 halftime lead and held the high powered Panther offense scoreless to take the win. The Panthers had several opportunities to score but were unable to get the ball past the opponent’s goalkeeper.

HFCS Boys Modified Soccer Ends Great Season
The Hoosick Falls Central School Boys Modified Soccer team ended its season proudly with a record of 8-2-2. These boys demonstrated that there is no “I” in team. They also made their coach and parents proud of their excellence in sportsmanship.

Dinner Theater At Berlin MS/HS

On Friday, November 22, the Berlin “Dramateers” will be presenting a dinner theater at the Berlin MS/HS. The performance is a murder mystery in which the audience members become the detectives during the show. Dinner begins at 6 pm and the show starts at 7 pm. The dinner includes ziti, salad and bread.
Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner Planned For November 23
The New Lebanon Jr./Sr. High School’s Appetites Anonymous/Food Club will be sponsoring a Thanksgiving Dinner for the community on Saturday, November 23. The dinner will be held in the school cafeteria from 4:30 to 6 pm. It is free.
To help the Club plan for the appropriate amount of food to serve, community members who plan to attend are asked to RSVP by November 20. The number at the Jr./Sr. High School is 794-7600.
“We hope that people who may not be able to enjoy a turkey dinner otherwise will take advantage of it,” said Michelle Daus, Club Advisor.
The New Lebanon Jr./Sr. High School’s Appetites Anonymous/Food Club is focused on helping students who are interested in learning more about advanced cooking techniques and exploring careers in the food industry.
Panthers Defeat Fonda Braves, 36 – 0, To Face Chatham In Super Bowl

In their first daytime game of the season, the Hoosick Falls football team traveled the very familiar road to Stillwater to face the Fonda Braves. The beautiful Stillwater turf field has become the Panthers’ home away from home. The Panthers have won more football games on Stillwater’s turf than Stillwater’s own football team. It’s tough to beat the same team three times in the same season. Any sport, any two teams, it is a difficult thing to do. Lady Panthers Soccer Wins Class B Championship; Loses In Next Round

The number one seeded Lady Panthers soccer team faced the number two seeded Greenville Spartans last Thursday in Lansingburgh for the Class B championship. The Panthers immediately jumped all over the Spartans, scoring three times in the first half, which was more than enough to seal the victory.
