Last Friday, the HFCS boys soccer team headed up the highway to Schuylerville. They were going to face the Schuylerville Black Horses for sole possession of first place in the WASAREN league. The Black Horses had tied the Panthers in their first meeting earlier in the season, and the Panthers wanted to bring home a win.

HF Girls Soccer Wins 2 And Loses 1

Tamarac came to the Hoosick Soccer Complex last Thursday looking to upset the Ladies.
In the first half, the Bengals got a penalty kick on a questionable call. The Bengals scored on the kick and took a 1 – 0 lead.
It turned out to be a temporary setback for the Panthers. Jordyn Haynes got HF on the board soon after to tie the game, and the Panthers never looked back. Rachel Pine tacked on another first half goal. After the half, both Haynes and Pine scored again. The Panthers won the game 4 – 1.

Taconic Valley Youth Basketball Registration Night
Taconic Valley Youth Basketball, sponsored by PVMCC will hold a sign-up night on Tuesday, October 22, from 6 to 8 pm at the Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Community Center. This program is open to all children within the Berlin Central School District in first through sixth grade.
New this year is the CYO Travel League for fifth and sixth-graders. The cost for first and second grade is $25, for third/fourth grade, $40, for fifth/sixth grade, $50.
Coaches and assistant coaches are needed. Come to sign-up night for more information, or call Kyle Jansen at 658-0080.
HFCS Hears More About Wood Pellet Heating

The Hoosick Falls School Board met in a workshop session on September 26 with David Dungate of Bioenergy Project Partners, a company proposing to put in a heating system at the Central School fueled by wood pellets.

HF Homecoming Chicken BBQ
The Hoosick Falls High School Student Council is hosting the 5th Annual Homecoming Chicken BBQ on Friday, October 11, from 3 to 5 pm. Giffy’s BBQ will be providing the chicken dinners which include ½ chicken, potato, coleslaw, roll and dessert. Tickets cost $12 and are available for purchase at the High School Office 518-686-7321. Panthers Pound Taconic Hills, 68 – 0

The Hoosick Falls Panther football team traveled 80 minutes down Route 22 last Friday night to meet the Taconic Hills Titans. Two hours later the Panthers returned after totally dominating the Titans. The Titans only entered the Panthers end of the field twice. The Panthers led 28 – 0 at the end of the first quarter, and 49 – 0 at the half.

HF Boys Soccer Is Undefeated

Cruising along like a well oiled machine, the Panthers are mowing them down. Last Thursday, facing a very good Hoosic Valley team on the Indians home field, HF earned a double overtime win. HF Girls Soccer – Almost Perfect

Last Friday, the Lady Panther soccer team traveled to Hoosic Valley. The Panthers outscored the Indians 4 – 3 to bring home a win. Jordyn Haynes put 2 goals in the net. Kolumbia Cook and Casie Mann each scored once. Hannah Fricke had nine saves in goal. The Hoosic Valley goalie had 14 saves.
Monday afternoon, Mt. Anthony visited Delurey Field to play the Ladies. The hosts came away with a 4 – 1 victory. Rachel Pine and Jordyn Haynes each scored two goals for the Panthers. Hannah Fricke had seven stops in goal.

HF Field Hockey Is Undefeated

Monday afternoon a fine Hoosick Falls field hockey team played the Salem Generals on the HFCS field. Caytlyn Springer scored two goals, and Liz Ryan, Carsen Williams, Olivia Schneider and Ally Burdick each scored once to beat the Generals 6 – 0. The Salem goalie had her hands full the entire game, fending off 23 shots. Panther goalie Ashley St. Onge showed up for work, but the team gave her the day off, as she didn’t have to make any saves.
On Wednesday the team faced Schuylerville on the Black Horses’ beautiful turf field. The Panthers came away with a 7 – 0 win. Caytlyn Springer scored three goals, Liz Ryan two, Ally Burdick and Ashley St. Onge each had one.
This Friday, October 4, the team faces Greenwich at HFCS at 4:15 pm. On Wednesday, October 9, Greenwich comes to visit HFCS for a 4:15 pm start.
