Panther Alleyways

January 11, 2013 By eastwickpress

HF 4         Stillwater 0
The Hoosick Falls bowling team beat Stillwater on Wednesday, January 3, by the score of 4-0. Total pins for Hoosick Falls were 3,390, and total pins for Stillwater were 3,053. Hoosick Falls now has a record of 39-1, and Stillwater has a record of 21-23.
The top bowler for Stillwater was Brian Sauer with a 211-582.
Top bowlers for Hoosick Falls were Bryan Callahan 239-682, Josh Conn 202-594, Josh McCart 191-553, Logan Brogue 198-546 and Stephen Surdam 188-519. Other good scores were Jennifer Sargood 211-611, Josh Reveal 244-575, Kyla Day 199-573 and A.J. Hurlburt 190-526.
“This was a close competitive match that we needed to get back into the routine of a good match which challenged the bowlers. We needed to have a little pressure during the match which we haven’t had for the last four matches. We didn’t have our best game totals of the season but we bowled good enough to win each game and total. The team responded to the pressure of making spares when they were needed or to strike out in the tenth frame which was necessary to win the game. We needed this match to get ready for our important matches next week,” said Coach Lang.
Bowlers Take Second At Schenectady Invitational

The first place team was from Camden which had a total pin count of 3,831. Hoosick Falls had a total pin count of 3,764. Mohonasen finished third with a total pin count of 3,760. There were twenty teams who participated in the tournament; most of the teams were “A” schools in Section II.
Stephen Surdam from Hoosick Falls had the high series in the tournament with a great 762 which included a 266 for his high game.
Other scores for Hoosick Falls bowlers were Josh McCart 238-658, Ken Marbot 223-626, Logan Brogue 220-589, Bryan Callahan 215-572 and Josh Conn 202-557. Josh Reveal and Jennifer Sargood were part of the team but did not bowl.
“We bowled great as a team today against mostly “A” and “B” schools. Stephen had his all time high series of 762. Ken Marbot and Josh McCart also had great triples to lead the team to another great finish in a tournament which is held at the lanes where Sectionals will be in February. This finish helped build their confidence for the remainder of our league season, league tournament, league roll-offs and Sectionals,” Coach Lang said.

The Hoosick Falls bowling team defeated Granville on Monday, January 7, by the score of 4-0. Total pins for Hoosick Falls were 3,711; total pins for Granville were 3,012. Hoosick Falls now has a record of 43-1. The top bowler for Granville was Pat Loomis with a 232-641.
Top bowlers for Hoosick Falls were Josh McCart 254-714, Bryan Callahan 237-682, Ken Marbot 234-663 and Logan Brogue 224-623. Other good scores were Josh Reveal 210-551 and Jennifer Sargood 208-514.
“The team bowled great with some really good scores. This was the best team total that we have ever had at Granville. They started out with some good games in the first game then had to make some lane adjustments in the second game and bowled more good games as the lanes broke down. The team is starting to put everything together at the right time of the year as we get to the end of the regular season and into tournaments,” Coach Lang said.
HF 4             Hoosic Valley 0
The Hoosick Falls bowling team beat Hoosic Valley on Tuesday, January 8, by the score of 4-0. Hoosick Fall’s total pins were 3,699. Hoosic Valley’s total pins were 3,086. Hoosick Falls now has a record of 47-1, and Hoosic Valley has a record of 30-14. The top bowler for Hoosic Valley was Mary Passineau with a 192-539.
Top bowlers for Hoosick Falls were Stephen Surdam 257-695, Bryan Callahan 237-650, Josh McCart 215-616, Logan Brogue 211-613, Ken Marbot 206-566 and Josh Conn 211-558. Other good scores were Josh Reveal 222-629, A. J. Hurlburt 244 (all time high game)-577 and Jennifer Sargood 190-508.
“This was another great team effort with some good scores. It was a good win against the third best team in the league. Anytime we get over 3,600 pins for a match score, I am very happy, and we have done that the last three times out. We have to keep working hard to keep this great streak of good bowling going into the end of season events. I am very proud of how we have come together as a team,” Coach Lang said.
