Five students from the Class of 2013 at Hoosick Falls Central school spent two days in New York City on September 16 and 17 visiting the city and meeting with professionals from various walks of life who shared their stories of success while offering college and career advice.
The five students – Samantha Brewer, Matt Brewster, Molly Fleming, Kassidy Hitt and Frankie Pearson – earned the trip to New York City after being named as finalists for a scholarship offered by the JLS Foundation. Panthers Pound Corinth 47 – 0

Last Friday under the HFCS lights, the Panthers took on the Corinth Tomahawks. It didn’t take long to see where this game was headed. The Corinth team appeared intimidated from the kickoff, and they never got anything going to bring up their confidence level. The Panthers struck with four minutes gone when Brad Burns scored on a 16 yard run and from then on everything went the Panthers’ way. Hoosick Falls led 40 – 0 at the half. The JV team got plenty of experience as they played most of the second half.

Panther Golfers Finish Third In League

The Hoosick Falls Varsity Golf Team ended its year with an overall score of 8 wins and 6 losses – tied with Greenwich for third place in the league. First place Schuylerville ended its season with 14 wins and 0 losses; Hoosic Valley had 11 wins and 3 losses.

HFCS PTA Fall Festival Celebrates Its 12th Year
The HFCS PTA is proud to announce its featured raffle items for the Twelfth annual Fall Festival being held on Saturday, October 20, from 9 am to 3 pm at the Hoosick Falls Central School. Each year the featured raffle items are always an event in themselves, and 2012 will be no exception – the public can get a sneak peek at them prior to the Festival up until October 19 at the Hoosick Federal Credit Union.

Mountaineer Boys Varsity Soccer Defeats Germantown

Jacob Mills scored 2 goals and Cody Seel one to give the boys varsity soccer team a 3 to 1 win over Germantown on Thursday, October 4. Jackson Burhans had 2 assists. Andrew Zlotnick and Mike Reger played well in goal.
The team battled Loudonville Christian at home on Tuesday, October 9, at 4 pm for first place in the CHVL league. [The outcome of that game was not made available by press time.]
Berlin Girls JV Soccer Defeats Emma Willard

The Berlin Girls JV soccer team defeated Emma Willard 2-1 at home on October 3. The first goal was a ball off the defending goalie, scored by Elysia Mars.
