HFCS PTA Book Fair
The Hoosick Falls Central School PTA will host a Scholastic Book Fair and ice cream social on June 2 from 6 to 8 pm in the elementary school cafeteria. The annual event is intended to increase literacy among students and raise funds to purchase books for the elementary school library. BCS Budget Rejected by Voters – Stewart, Nash And Webster Win BOE Seats

Berlin’s 2010-2011 budget was rejected by a vote of 710 to 542. Options to purchase another school bus and spend $100,000 in renovations failed by votes of 620-599 and 608-561, respectively. In what was one of the most heated elections in recent memory, incumbent Beverly Stewart, John Nash and Alan Webster Jr. were elected to three-year terms on the Board of Education. Stewart overcame Sara Feathers by a vote of 641-609; Nash defeated Richard Beckwith 641-595 and Webster’s 710 votes topped incumbent Jeffrey Paine’s 549. HFCS District Budget Passes By Big Margin

The mood at the Hoosick Falls School Board meeting Tuesday was celebratory after the voters of the Hoosick Falls School District passed the budget by a margin of better than 2 to 1. The tally was 528 yes to 224 no. The bus purchase proposition passed by a vote of 496 to 254. The Capital Reserve Fund proposition passed by a vote of 466 to 273.

Bravo! The Hoosick Falls Central School Drama Club has done it again! The production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels on April 30 and May 1 was well done and downright fun! The orchestra is always a special touch in these productions. The sets moved around on wheels by the actors was fascinating to watch – great dancing and singing!
