Home standing Hoosick Falls Central School broke out to an 11-6 lead after eight minutes in their 2009-10 season opener against WASAREN League foe Hoosic Valley Central School but couldn’t hold their edge as the Indians won the game 46-30 last Monday evening, November 30, on the Panthers’ River Road floorboards.

What a season for HFCS Field Hockey and Football! Each team, through their effort, dedication and hard work made it to the NY State Final Four. The Field Hockey run ended on Friday, November 20, at Vestal High School. The Football run ended on Saturday, November 21, in Kingston.

When you win a league title you should feel good about yourself. When you win a sectional championship you should feel very good about yourself. When you win a state regional championship you should feel like you’re on top of the world. And, if you fall one point short of going to the Syracuse Carrier Dome to play for the New York State Class C championship, you’ll most likely have a lot of good stories to tell your friends, neighbors, family, children and grandchildren some day. HF Field Hockey Journey Ends At The Final Four

Port Jefferson scored first in the NY Class C semifinal game on Friday, November 20, at Vestal High School. Samantha Skott, with an assist from Rachel Quackenbush, managed to even the score just minutes later. Port Jefferson, however, struck again before the half was over. Rachel’s Challenge Accepted At HFCS

“I have this theory that if one person can go out of their way to show compassion then it will start a chain reaction of the same.” Those are the words of Rachel Joy Scott, the first person killed at Columbine High School in Colorado on April 20, 1999. Twelve students and one teacher were killed that day, and 27 others were wounded.
