HFCS Sports Season Underway

Classes don’t begin at Hoosick Falls Central School until next Tuesday, but the sports season has already begun. The golfers have had five matches so far. The boys and girls soccer teams have participated in scrimmages and have tournaments coming up. There will be a field hockey tournament soon and, of course, football practice is underway.

Backyard History Video To Be Aired Next Week
On Tuesday, September 8, Wednesday, September 9, and Thursday, September 10, The Backyard History Video for 2009 will be broadcast on cable Channel 16 at 7 pm. This year’s topics include Charles Cheney, local banker and philanthropist who donated the money to build our public library, William Thomas, Congressman and Pharmacist, and Henderson Van Surdam, musician, coach and sports writer. HFCS Pre- Licensing Course
Hoosick Falls Central School will sponsor the five hour Pre-licensing Class needed to take the NYS Driver’s test on Thursday, September 10. Registration begins at 4:30 pm in the High School office, with class following promptly at 5 pm. A valid NYS driver’s permit and a $35 fee is required. Hoosick Falls Central School Opens Tuesday, September 8
Wednesday, September 2, and Thursday, September 3, are Superintendent Conference Days – no students.
Students in grades k – 12 will begin with a full day of instruction on Tuesday, September 8. Breakfast and lunch will be provided as usual. Students should follow their regular bus assignments and schedules.

No Increase In BCS Tax Levy
