The varsity girls’ soccer team ended their league play with a bang with a 6-0 win over Granville. It was their last home game and the girls’ senior game. The Hoosick Falls Boys soccer team had a great outcome for their senior game beating Granville 9-0. Though the game was one-sided Granville kept up the pace without giving up. Softball Tryouts
The Bennington Bandits summer softball team will hold open tryouts on Saturday October. 23 from 10 am. to Noon at Upper Willow Park. Any girls who are under age 17 as of January 1, 2011 and are willing to commit to playing a full schedule with the Bandits are eligible to participate.

Map and Compass Program
Gain confidence in hiking by taking the “Basic Map and Compass” program at the Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center on Saturday, October 30, from 10 am to 2 pm. This workshop will provide people with an outdoor field experience to understand the basics of interpreting topographical maps, using a compass and putting them both together to navigate off trail. Pre-registration is required and can be done by contacting dykenpond@fairpoint.net or 518-658-2055. The fee is $10 or $8 for members.
NYS Youth Snowmobile Safety Course Offered In Grafton
On Saturday, December 4, the Grafton Trail Blazers Snowmobile Club and the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation will host a snowmobile safety course for young people ages 10 to 18. Students must be at least 10 years old on the day of the course. Parents are encouraged to attend and participate.
