It was to be the last home game of the season – Senior Night; bonfire, fun, etc.
Unfortunately it was not to be. Late Sunday night Lake George emailed the school and forfeited the game. That leaves Hoosick Falls undefeated for the season with a 7-0 record, counting the forfeit.

Panthers Remain Unbeaten In Section II, Class C Football Action

Blue skies and vibrant foliage was the backdrop at John G. Boshart Field in Fonda-Fultonville on Saturday as the Braves came out of the locker room clearly ready to fight hard for a win against the Panthers during their homecoming game. However, the lion-hearted Panther defense proved too much for the Braves, as the Panthers added another tally to the win column with a 21-6 victory.

Friends Of GLSP Annual Dinner And Plateau Geology Lecture
The Friends of Grafton Lakes State Park Annual Dinner and Meeting is coming up on Thursday, November 4, at 6 pm at the Grafton Inn on Route 2.
We are fortunate to have David DeSimone, local geologist and adjunct professor at RPI, sharing the topic of “The History and Environmental Geology of the Rensselaer Plateau.” It’s an incredible story that starts over 500 million years ago! The lecture will begin at approximately 7 pm.

Hooskip Dairy Farm Tour
On Saturday, October 23, at 1 pm, join the Agricultural Stewardship Association (ASA) and the Rensselaer Land Trust (RLT) for a tour of the 100 cow Hooskip Farm dairy operation run by the McMahon family. This is a wonderful opportunity to see the inner workings of a small, family-owned, dairy farm in an absolutely beautiful landscape. October 16 – bird seed pick-up day at Capital Agway in Brunswick; 9 am to 12 pm.
October 17 – Fall Foliage Hike for all ages; leisurely hike on Center trails; 1to 3 pm; free.
October 30 – Map and Compass; the basics of reading topographical maps and using compass to navigate your way off trail. Basic skills will be covered that are useful even if you are using a GPS; 10 am to 2 pm; $10 or $8 for members. Pre-registration is required. Trick or Treat Nature Trail At Grafton Lakes State Park
Grafton Lakes State Park will be holding its third Annual Trick or Treat Nature Trail on Saturday, October 30, from 5 to 7 pm. Kids can go on a fun adventure on the trail, challenge their senses with some nature mysteries and, by trail’s end, find some treats. The trail departs from Shaver Nature Center, 194 Shaver Pond Road in Grafton.

Semi-Pro Football Comes To Hoosick Falls

Sunday, October 3, a New England Football Semi-pro League playoff game between the Rampage of Central Vermont and the Southern Vermont Storm was held at the HFCS Ken Baker Field. The Storm is made up of players from Bennington, Fair Haven, Jacksonville, Manchester, Pownal and Sandgate, VT, Lanesborough, North Adams and Williamstown, MA, and Johnsonville, Troy, Shushan and Valley Falls, NY. It is also made up of Alex Hansen, Jeffery Hunt, Sean Lennon, Shawn Morrison, Warren O’Grady, Don Skott, Gregg Stroffoleno and Francis Tilley, III of Hoosick Falls and William Telford of White Creek.
