Hoosick Falls Field Hockey Undefeated After Nine Games

On Monday, September 20, HFCS Field Hockey played Warrensburg at home. HF sailed to a 5-0 victory to bring their season record to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in League play. Goals by senior Samantha Skott, with an assist from Freshman Carsen Williams, by junior Hailey Bugbee, with an assist from senior Karley Morin, and by senior Alyssa Schneider made it 3-0 at half time. Hoosick Falls Football Remains Undefeated

The Hoosick Falls football team continued its winning streak with a 34-6 win over the Granville Horde under the Friday night lights of Ken Baker field on September 24.
Tanner Williams took the ball to the end zone 3 times to lead the Panthers. He ended the evening with 146 combined rushing and receiving yards.

Lady Panther Soccer Beats Hoosic Valley In A High Scoring Match

The Hoosick Falls Girls Soccer team went into Wednesday’s game against the current first place team, Hoosic Valley. The Panthers knew that in order to win the WASAREN League this would be a game they needed to win. However, within the first minutes HV scored from a corner kick. HFCS Boys Soccer Loses A Close One

The Hoosick Falls and Hoosic Valley boys soccer teams scored all three goals of the game in the first 10 minutes. Two goals were scored by Hoosic Valley’s J.T. Sawyer and Hal Kilmartin. The Panthers played a very impressive game on their home field under the lights against Greenwich on September 21. The girls’ scored throughout the game with Meaghan McKee starting early with the first goal and adding two more later on to get a hat trick. Mountaineer Girls Soccer Defeats Heatly In OT

In an overtime nail-biter, the Berlin Mountaineer girls soccer team defeated Heatly 2-1.
In the first half, each team’s defenses dominated. Berlin’s midfielders controlled the field, and the team itself seemed to out maneuver and outplay the Hornets. Yet the Mountaineers could not muster an uncontested shot on goal, as Heatly’s rigid defensive line thwarted a number of scoring threats. Berlin’s defense, anchored by Rachel Gordon and keeper Ashley Vincent, prevented the Hornets from generating any legitimate scoring threat. The first half ended in a scoreless tie.

Boys Soccer Ties Tough Tamarac Foe

There was some tough competition between the 2009 WASAREN League Soccer Champions Tamarac and the Hoosick Falls Panthers on Wednesday in Hoosick Falls. Both teams came into the game knowing it would be a tough one. It was soon obvious that it would also become a rough game, too.
