Last Thursday, September 16, at HFCC it was 3 to 2, Tamarac over Hoosick Falls. Medalists were Dan O’Brien of Tamarac with a 40 and Jordan Colvin and HF senior James Lynch and Freshman Kealan Hitt each with a 46.

On Friday, September 17, at the Hoosick Falls Country Club HF defeated Cambridge 3-2. Medalists were HF junior Jordan Colvin 38 and Cambridge’s Nick Jettison with a 43.

Brunswick Grange Tailgate Sale
On Sunday, October 3, Brunswick Grange will hold a tailgate sale at the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds, Rt. 67 & 40, Schaghticoke, from 8 am to 12:30 pm. Up to 50 vendors will have various varieties of chickens, ducks, geese, pigeons, plants, flowers and other related agricultural items. A donation of $15 per vendor will be charged. Hike To Berlin Mountain
On Saturday, October 2, at 9 am, join the Rensselaer Land Trust and the Mohawk-Hudson Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club on a hike to the roof of Rensselaer County. Berlin Mountain, at 2,798 feet, is the highest point in Rensselaer County, and its open summit provides wonderful views of the Taconics and of Mt. Greylock and the Berkshires. We’ll start at Petersburgh Pass on NY Route 2, and on our way we’ll cross Berlin Pass, where the Albany Road ran in the 1700s.

Panther Defense Holds Red Raiders To 32 Yards

Coach Ron Jones’ Panther defense was firing hard on Friday night as they held the Mechanicville Red Raiders to just 32 yards in their attempts to put the ball in the end zone. The Panthers shut out the Raiders on their home turf last Friday night by a score of 42-0.

HF Boys Soccer Loses To Schuylerville

Both the Panthers and the Schuylerville Horses started off strong with equal opportunities to put the ball in the back of the net. Hoosick Falls’ Chris LaCroix had several break-aways down the sideline only to get stopped by the strong Schuylerville defense. About 20 minutes into the first half, Schuylerville’s #10, Patrick Cassle, scored to put the Horses up 1-0. Not long after that they followed with two more goals. One from Andrew Ethier, who finished a loose ball in the box, and one from Raul Mejia, who scored off a free kick only several yards outside the 18 yard box.

On Tuesday, September 14, HF defeated Cambridge at Windy Hill, 4½ to ½. “Medalist Jordon Colvin tied Chris Crucetti with a 38,” said Coach Pam Hatfield. Eric Bloomer had a personal best of 44.
