BCS And Valley Cats Honor Bob Miller

If there was a teaching Hall of Fame in the Berlin Central School district, the selection committee would have a tough choice to make after this year.  Would they make retiring English teacher Bob Miller sit through the normal waiting period before admitting him, or would they waive that rule and allow him to be enshrined right away. Or maybe the only really difficult part would be finding a place to host the ceremony that was big enough to hold everyone who would want to see it.

Girl Scout Camp will be held this year August 3 through August 7 at the Hoosac School from 9 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday.  The camp costs $40 per girl. The camp is operated under Rensselaer County Health Department guidelines.

GLSP Off-Road Triathlons

Sky High Adventures and Grafton Lakes State Park Off-Road Triathlons will be held at the Park  July 18 and 19.  The Sky High Kids Off-Road Triathlon, will take place on Saturday, July 18, with a 9 am start time.  The Sky High Off-Road Triathlon at Grafton Lakes, a Nissan Xterra Points Series Race, will take place on Sunday, July 19, with an 8 am start time.

Hunter Safety Course

A Hunter Safety Course will be held at the Pioneer Fish & Game Club, Route 7, in Hoosick on Friday, July 17, from 5:30 to 9:30 pm and Saturday, July 18, from 8 am to 4 pm. Both classes must be attended. Pre-registration is required and can be made by calling Gary Sargood at 686-4072 or Don McCabe at 686-4767.

The Art Of Gardening

CHVL Baseball All-Stars

This week the Central Hudson Valley League announced its All-Star teams for baseball.  Senior Fred Morine of Berlin was the only local player named to the First Team.  On the Second Team were Eric Remington of Berlin and Kyle McHugh of New Lebanon.  New Lebanon’s Erich Lowe was named an Honorable Mention All-Star.
