HFCS Girls Soccer Class CC Champs

Rainy weather changed the schedule for the girls soccer sectionals and #2 seed HF got to play #6 seed Albany Academy at Helft Field in Hoosick on October 30. The score was 3 – 0 for the Panthers. Goals were scored by Meaghan McKee, Allie Martin and Jenna Priore. Kelsey Rogers had six saves in the shutout, and the Hoosick Falls Girls Soccer Team became Class CC Champions once again. HFCS Field Hockey Team Class CC Champs

Panther Football Team Loses Season Finale To Corinth, 32-27

The second time around for a high school football game between home standing Hoosick Falls Central School and the visiting Corinth Central School Tomahawks last Friday evening, October 31, Halloween night, turned out to be a scary proposition for the Hoosick Falls Panthers as Ron Jones’ team dropped a 32-27 season ending decision in a Class C crossover game. Mountaineers Send Four Cross Country Runners To The State Championships

Snow across the region early in the week did not stop the area’s high school cross country runners from racing in what was the biggest race of the season for most of them. The Section II Cross Country Championships were once again held at Saratoga State Park, and, once again, the Berlin teams were well represented.

Fighting Irish In Super Bowl

On Sunday, October 17, the undefeated Fighting Irish faced off against the 3 – 3 Salem Patriots at HFCS. The Irish scored on their first possession and were never threatened, winning the game 45 – 12. Last Sunday, the Irish faced Schuylerville on the HFCS field. This Sunday they play in the Super Bowl.
