Gordon Fricke of Barber & Fricke Automotive, Inc. of Hoosick Falls can be heard once a month live on public radio station WAMC, 90.3. The show is Vox Pop and host Ray Graf, news anchor and director of news media, has a variety of experts on the show, from medical to gardening. “I’m the car guy,” said Fricke.

Stephentown Town Board Action – Stephentown May Try For Hannaford

Regarding recent news that the plans for a Hannaford Market in New Lebanon had fallen through, Town Supervisor Larry Eckhardt said at the Town Board meeting Monday that it was quite a blow to New Lebanon and it appeared that the people down there had been blindsided by a problem with the land owner. Stephentown 2011 Muster Results

On a beautiful pre-Fall day the Annual Stephentown Fireman’s Muster & Community Day got under way last Saturday morning, September 17, at 11 am with the Muster Parade. The Best Appearing Fire Company was judged to be the Hancock Fire Department. The Best Appearing Muster Team was the team from Florida, MA. The Stephentown Youth Commission took first prize with their float “Under the Sea.” Second prize went to the Church of the Crossroads for their “Fishers of Men” float.

Yesterday’s news regarding the withdrawal of the Hannaford Supermarket from our Town has sent shock waves down the valley as residents have reacted with horror and outrage. This “cog” in the wheel of our economic base was anticipated as the saving factor to our local economy that is struggling to survive and with so much hope for the future; there was reason to be uplifted despite the bleak national scene. New Lebanon was somehow going to rise above it all and be strong.

Two Public Hearings – One Approval

Two public hearings were held before the Grafton Planning Board regular meeting on Monday, September 19.
At 6:30 pm the hearing on the Marcel Forette two lot minor subdivision on Miller Way, a private road off of Blue Factory Road, was opened by Planning Board Chairman Tom Withcuskey. The Forettes were present as was the irrepressible Bill Darling, the surveyor who has represented the Forettes during the application process.
