Water And Paving At The Village Board Meeting

At the Tuesday, August 9, regular meeting of the Hoosick Falls Village Board Mayor Matt Monahan said the Village will be reading water meters between August 19 and 22. He expects bills will be sent to residents by September 9 at the very latest. These will be the first bills Village residents will receive that reflect the amount of water households actually use.

New Lebanon Town Board Action – Last Gasp For The Union Free School

The Union Free School building just refuses to die quietly, as some would certainly desire. Sentenced to death by the New Lebanon School Board, the building raised its aged head once again, perhaps for the last time, and became the focus of last Monday’s New Lebanon Town Board Meeting.

Rensselaer County Legislature – Hoosick Falls Property Turned Over To Neighbor

At its regular meeting on Tuesday, August 9, the Rensselaer County Legislature turned over the property at 43-45 Center Street in the Village of Hoosick Falls to Thomas  P.  Dooley,  Jr.,  the owner of  the adjacent  real property. Hoosick Falls Scout Soaring With The Eagles

The Eagle rank was first awarded in 1912 and represents a ten year commitment on the part of the Scout. Stephentown Flywheel Failure Still A Mystery

Beacon Power CEO Bill Capp, speaking to investors on Tuesday at a presentation of the company’s second quarter financial results, made mention of the flywheel failure that occurred in their Stephentown plant on July 27. Capp said that with all the flywheels operating in a 20 megawatt frequency regulation plant, it is assumed that there will be a limited number of failures and funds have been set aside to deal with that. Grafton Town Board Action – Work Begins On The Budget

Grafton Supervisor Tyler Sawyer said he has been meeting with Town Department heads to  talk about the 2012 budget, in preparation for presenting a preliminary budget in September. Sawyer said he is aiming for no tax increase.
