Grafton Town Board Action – Concern Over Rescue Squad Suspension

An issue that brought several people to the Grafton Town Board meeting on October 14 was a letter to the editor that appeared in the Eastwick Press regarding a certified letter sent to a member of the Grafton Rescue Squad suspending her from the Squad. Stephentown Town Board Action – Tentative Budget Has Close To 11% Tax Levy Increase In Spite Of Cuts

A tentative Town budget for Stephentown presented at a public hearing Monday evening would reduce expenditures by about 2% but still result in a tax levy increase of close to 11%. Town Supervisor Larry Eckhardt said the Town has been dipping into “savings” for too long, using the unexpended fund balance to keep taxes down. Gundrums Honored At Grafton Senior Center

Joan and Gordon (Gunny) Gundrum owned the old house and land on the corner of Route 2 and Roxborough Road for many years. In ceremonies Monday, October 18, when the couple was presented with a plaque in appreciation of their donation of the property to Grafton for use as the Everett Wager Senior Center, Gundrum recalled some of the history of the old building. Firefighters Visit St. Mary’s Academy

As Part of Fire Prevention Week local Firefighters visited  St. Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls on Friday October 8. The firefighters spoke to the children about fire safety, smoke detectors, family escape plans, how to stop, drop and roll, the importance of knowing their home addresses and how and who to call in an emergency. Hoosick Democrats To Welcome Joanne Yepsen

Joanne Yepsen will be present at the Town of Hoosick pre-election rally to be held at the Sand Bar in Hoosick Falls on Sunday, October 24, from 4 to 8 pm.  Yepsen, Saratoga County Supervisor and small business owner, is a candidate for the New York 43rd Senatorial District.  She has been re-elected County Supervisor three times on a proven record of integrity that focuses on the issues and needs of the individuals, families and businesses she represents.

Hoosick Falls Girls Soccer Ends Season With Big Win

The varsity girls’ soccer team ended their league play with a bang with a 6-0 win over Granville. Hoosick Falls Boys Soccer Win Big

The Hoosick Falls Boys soccer team had a great outcome for their senior game beating Granville 9-0. Though the game was one-sided Granville kept up the pace without giving up.
