St. Mary’s Academy Funtastic Fair
St. Mary’s Academy’s Annual Funtastic Fair is next weekend, June 11 and 12. This year marks the Fair’s 35th anniversary, and, along with the traditional games and attractions, there will be rides for young and old from Amyland Amusements, our own version of the popular game show “Minute to Win It” and inside spaces for vendors. The fee for vendor spaces is just $20 for both days of the Fair.
The Fair runs on Friday from 5 to 10 pm and on Saturday from noon until 10 pm. Call the school at 686-4314 ext. 202 for more information on vendor spaces or if you would like to sponsor a booth in memory of a loved one or your SMA graduating class.
Historic Wedding Dresses At The Stephentown Historical Society
Anne Kiely will present a program on historic wedding dresses on Monday, June 7, to the Stephentown Historical Society. Because of a current renovation project at the Heritage Center, the meeting will be held at the Stephentown Fire Hall, Grange Hall Road, Stephentown. This year marks the 26th anniversary of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. Each year our team participates, as well as many others, and “hits the track” at Mount Anthony Union High School for a night of remembrance and fraternity as we raise monies to help find a cure.

The Petersburgh Town Wide Tag Sale and Library Bake, Book and Plant Sale is this Saturday, June 5, from 9 am to 3 pm. Boy Scout Troop 222 will be cooking lunch, grilling up hot dogs, hamburgers and the works! Shop, have lunch and pick up a PVMCC schedule of all our events and programs.
Petersburgh Walkabout
Join the Petersburgh Walkabout! Walkers are needed to walk every road in Petersburgh! By doing two miles each weekday, every road can still be covered before it gets too cool in the fall. It is better to walk with a partner for safety and to prevent backtracking. The first walkers of the day leave the Memorial Hall about 7 am and are generally back by 7:45. The option of an earlier walk is available for those who work an early shift. Call Mary Lou Walters at 658-0136 for ,ore information. HFCS Prelicensing Course
The NYS 5 hour Prelicensing Course is being offered at Hoosick Falls Central School on Thursday, June 10. Successful completion of the course is needed for obtaining a NYS driver’s license. A valid learner’s permit and $35 cash and is needed. Registration begins at 4:30 pm that evening in the High School office. Class begins promptly at 5 pm and is completed that evening. Sand Lake Historical Society Meeting
On Tuesday, June 8, the Sand Lake Historical Society will meet at 7:30 pm at Sand Lake Baptist Church, 2960 NY Route 43 in Averill Park. Gloria Waldron Hukle who resides in Averill Park will present a program about historical research and some of the characters from each of her books revealing the one that was drawn from old Albany life and who was the sole catalyst for all three works now known as the Waldron Series Books.
