A Vicious Battle – Softball That Is

It was a vicious battle from the beginning to the end between the Lady Tigers and Lady Mountaineers softball teams. The first few innings for both teams were a quick three up, three down with New Lebanon getting one run. Introduction to Grant Research Online

Stephentown Memorial Library (SML) announces two sessions of the workshop, “Introduction to Grant Research Online,” May 11 at 2 pm and May 25 at 7 pm. These one hour workshops will provide a  step by step guide to using the Foundation Center Online’s database of almost 100,000 grant-giving  foundations and corporations. SML is one of only 400 libraries in the country that provide free access to this “gold standard”  grant seeking resource.

Flower Basket And Plant Sale

The Berlin FCCLA will be holding a Hanging Flower Basket and Plant Sale this weekend, just in time for Mother’s Day on Friday, May 7, from 4 to 7 pm and Saturday, May 8 from 9 am to noon in the parking lot at Eagle Energy, Rt. 22, in Berlin. Cheyenne Seel will be heading to Chicago in July to compete on the National Level and some of the proceeds from this sale will help cover her expenses. If you’re in the market for some beautiful plants, please stop by and see Cheyenne.

Texas Hold’em

The Veterans of Stephentown will sponsor a Texas Hold’em Tournament on Saturday, May 15, in the Stephentown Fire Hall, located on Grange Hall Road in Stephentown. The doors will open at 5 pm and close at 6 pm. Play begins at 6:15 sharp.
No advance registration is required, and a donation of $25 per player is accepted. Players can pay at the door and can buy 1,000 extra chips for $10. This tournament will pay eight places; the first player out receives $25 back.
Hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, bottled water, soda and coffee will be available for purchase. For further information, please call Tom at 518-658-2448.
