Berlin Girls Basketball Plucks Thunder Chickens

With a small bench as it is, and Erin Berschwinger recovering from a recent shoulder injury, it was unclear if the game against Doane Stewart on January 27 would be an easy one. The Lady Mountaineers started off the game slowly letting the Thunder Chickens get the first points. Get Help With Financial Aid Applications

Feeling overwhelmed or confused about applying for Financial Aid for your college bound senior?  Are you still not sure what the FAFSA is? If this describes you or your college bound senior, then please join Lisa Dooley of the Sage Colleges and Mrs. Harrison for FAFSA Night on Thursday, February 11, from 6:30 until 8 pm at the Berlin Middle/High School.  Stop by the Middle School Computer Lab between 6:30 and 8 pm and get the help you are looking for filling out the FAFSA.

Clarification

Hoosick Falls School Librarian Martha Von Schilgen corrected our description last week of the new resources available through the School Library’s web site. She wrote, “One small error in the Hoosick Falls School Board news – our students cannot access the school library’s online catalog, but they can access the public library on line catalog from their home computers. Students are able to access the school’s library catalog from anywhere in school on the school’s internal network.”

Register This Month For The Taconic Valley Soccer Club

The Taconic Valley Soccer Club will be holding CDYSL registrations at the Berlin Library four times in the month of February. Dean Maxon will be at the Library from 7 to 9 pm on Thursday nights, February 11 and 18, and Saturday mornings, February the 13 and 20, from 10 am to 12 pm.
You can register on your own before February 23 on line. Payment cannot be made on line but can be sent to the address listed on line. Payment must be made by February 28 for players to hold a spot on the team.
Annual Meeting
The TVSC annual meeting will be held at the Berlin Library on March 30 at 7 pm.

SYC Goes Tubing

The Stephentown Youth Commission is going tubing at Bousquet Ski Area in Pittsfield, MA, on Sunday, February 21, from 10 am to 12 pm.  The bus will leave the Stephentown Elementary School at 9 am and return around 1 pm.  All children must be accompanied by an adult and a release form must be filled out by a parent or guardian.  Please call Samantha Bink 733-6729 to register or with any questions.

Petersburgh Sgt. Works At National High School All Star Game

Army Staff Sgt. Jonathan N. Colon was part of a support team made up of soldiers from throughout the Army for the 2010 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.  The Army sponsored the nationally televised football game played on January 9 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Relay For Life Kickoff

On Thursday, February 11, Relay for Life of Bennington County is holding its Kickoff meeting at the Moose Club, 916 Main St., Bennington from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. PVMCC News

PVMCC Music and Art Cafe will be held Friday February 19 from 7 to 9 pm. Barry Hyman will be back with his eclectic presentation that is sure to please all who come out. Artists are encouraged to come and draw the cafe activities. Music lovers are encouraged to enjoy the music, have a nice treat and peek over the shoulders of the artists.
German Dinner
A tentative date of March 13 is set for a fund raising German dinner cooked and organized by Ziggie Krahforst. Ziggie will be making sauerbraten with all the fixings and dessert, too.
