East Chatham – Henry E. Schildt, 86, formerly of East Chatham, NY, died at his home on January 16, 2010.
Born in New York City on June 24, 1923, he was the son of Henry R. Schildt and Elsie H. Jungen. He was a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School in 1941 and attended the Pratt Institute majoring in Chemical Engineering before entering the Army in 1942.

I paid six dollars for a Parlor Pyramid Stove and fifty cts for an elbow pipe to Backus Stove and I got trusted to Peases Harness Shop for a leather cover whip and buckskin lash which was eighty seven cents which I have agreed to pay in turnips, and Sarah O. rode home with me from Pittsfield.
