Regional Motorcycle Competition In Hoosick

A Hoosick Tradition: The Annual Karen McGovern Volleyball Tournament

The 10th Annual Karen McGovern Volleyball Tournament will be held on Saturday, September 5 at The Sand Bar, 21 Lyman St in Hoosick Falls. This all day event and fund raiser celebrates the life of Karen McGovern and raises thousands of dollars each fall. The funds are used to support individuals and families currently dealing with catastrophic illnesses in Hoosick and the surrounding areas.

Congressman Murphy Visits The Area On Labor Day Weekend

Congressman Scott Murphy (NY-20) will attend a series of events across the Eastwick Area on Labor Day weekend.
Chatham
Congressman Murphy will visit the Columbia County Fair at the Columbia County Fairgrounds in Chatham at 1 pm on Saturday, September 5.
Petersburgh
The Congressman will hold a Congress-On-Your-Corner with citizens and local officials in Petersburgh at the Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Community Center, 71 Main Street, at 11:30 am on Monday, September 7.
Schaghticoke
Congressman Murphy will visit the Rensselaer County Fair in Schaghticoke at 2 pm on Monday, September 7.

Scrub Board Laundromat And Car Wash Goes Green

The flooding in Stephentown at the end of July caused disruption for a number of businesses, one of them being the Scrub Board Laundromat and Car Wash on Route 22. Elmer Stuart said that the overflowing Kinderhook Creek resulted in dirty water that forced the facility to shut down on the evening of July 29. They were finally able to re-open on the following Saturday afternoon.

Hoosick Eateries Show Overwhelming Support For “A Taste Of Hoosick”

Stephentown Historical Society Presentation On The Anti-Rent War
