Burns Takes 2nd In Wrestling State Championships; Robichaud Places 6th

For the first time in a decade the Hoosick Falls wrestling team was being represented at the New York State Championships. Taylor Robichaud and Jeremy Burns took part in the two day tournament that saw 480 wrestlers vie for 30 State championships. The Berlin boys basketball team entered this past weekend’s Class C sectional tournament as the #3 seed, looking to advance to the Glens Falls Civic Center for the first time in school history. In their way stood the # 6 seed Warrensburg Burgers of the Adirondack League.
Nicholas Ruebel On Clarkson President’s List
Nicholas Ruebel, a 2005 graduate of Berlin High School and a senior at Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY, majoring in electrical engineering, was named in January to the President’s List for the fall semester. The President’s List at Clarkson requires a student to achieve a grade point average of 3.8 to 4.0 and is the highest rank possible at Clarkson.

Crawford And Tweedie Named To The College Of Saint Rose Dean’s List
Tristin Crawford, a resident of Berlin, and Aprille Tweedie, a resident of Stephentown, are among 872 students named to The College of Saint Rose Fall 2008 Dean’s List.
Full-time students who complete a minimum of 12 credit hours and achieve a semester grade-point average of at least 3.5 with no grades of D, F, Incomplete or Pass/Fail are eligible for inclusion on the list.
Bryan Nielsen Earns Highest Honors At Skidmore College
Bryan Nielsen, Class of 2009 at Skidmore College, earned highest honors for the fall semester. He is the son of Roy and Thessalia Nielsen of Petersburgh.
Highest honors are awarded for a quality point ratio of 3.670 or more from a possible 4.0. Honors are awarded for a grade point ratio of 3.4 to 3.669.
