The Stephentown Historical Society has announced that the Stephentown Heritage Center will be closed during the month of December. If someone is in need of genealogical or any other information during that time, they may call for a personal appointment with either Bill Zimmerman at 518-794-8430 or Bev McClave at 518-733-5170.
A Festival Of Trees In Grafton
A Festival of Trees is on display in Grafton at the Everett Wagar Senior Center. The “festival” is open to the public and trees will be on view Monday to Friday from 9 am to 3 pm through December 21.
Several organizations and individuals have entered trees decorated by theme. Groups, businesses, churches, organizations, families, individuals and children have been invited and encouraged to enter a tree. Cash prizes will be awarded by category of entries.
Tree Open House
On Sunday, December 16, there will be an open house from 10 am to 2 pm to view the trees, and refreshments will be served. Families are encouraged to stop in and bring their children.
December Events At The New Lebanon Library
The New Lebanon Library announces the following December events. All of these events are free and will take place at the Library which is located at 550 State Route 20.
• December 12, 19, 26 (event is on Wednesdays) – Tales for Tots Story Hour – 10:30 am. Story hour includes crafts, songs and movement activities.
• December 12, 19, 26 (event is on Wednesdays) – Hug-A-Bye Babies – noon. This is age appropriate stories, songs and movement activities for our youngest patrons and their caregivers.
• December 13, 20, 27 (event is on Thursdays) – Bright Beginnings Story Hour and Play Group – 11 am to 2 pm. Meet other parents and care providers while your child aged 0-5 hears a story, then socializes with other children in an unstructured, educational setting.

Two Stephentown Students From HVCC Inducted Into Phi Theta Kappa Academic Honor Society
Local college students studying at Hudson Valley Community College were recently inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, the international academic honor society for two year institutions of higher learning. Membership in Phi Theta Kappa is indicative of academic excellence. Those inducted are matriculated students who have met standards including a grade point average of 3.71 or higher.

Tsatsawassa Protective Fire Company Breakfast With Santa’s Workshop

Youth 2 Youth Berlin Teen Event
Youth 2 Youth Berlin will be hosting a holiday teen event on Friday, December 14, at the Berlin Middle School/High School from 7 to 10 pm. Berlin Youth 2 Youth has planned a night with DJ, dancing, games, Wii, prizes and raffles and other activities planned.
Tickets cost $3 in advance, $5 at the door, and include snacks and beverage; pizza will be available to purchase. Berkshire musician Tor Krautter will perform at the New Lebanon Library on Thursday, December 13, at 7 pm. With the use of a looping unit, Rev Tor creates tasty yet infectious grooves and performs a large repertoire of well crafted original tunes and classic rock/folk covers.

PVMCC Holiday Craft And Gift Fair
On Saturday, December 8, from 9 am to 1 pm there will be a holiday craft and gift fair at the Petersburgh Veterans memorial Community Center.
Shop locally this holiday season! A wide variety of jewelry, pottery, photographs, cards, baskets, soap, knitted items, candles, wrought iron gifts, hand turned wooden goblets, organic farm goodies and more will “deck the hall” at the annual PVMCC Craft and Gift Fair. Stop by the kitchen for homemade soup or chili with a slice of fresh baked bread. Boy Scout Troop 222 will be making and selling wreathes. Don’t go home empty handed…come shop with us!
