Patrick Russo Wins Rensselaer County Republican Sheriff’s Primary

Rensselaer County Undersheriff Patrick Russo was the easy winner in the primary contest for the Republican line for County Sheriff.  Russo turned back the challenge of former Sheriff’s Department employee Scott Ryan, garnering nearly 65 percent of the vote county wide.  According to the Board of Elections, the breakdown per town was pretty much along the same line. Bennington’s Meetinghouse Cafe Presents Award-Winning Folk Singers

Connor Garvey and Max Garcia Conover, two New England-based singer/songwriters will perform at the Meetinghouse Cafe on Friday, September 18 at 8 pm. Garvey and Conover both tour nationally, sometimes as solo artists and sometimes with others. Garvey is from Maine. Adam L. Morse

Berlin- Adam L. Morse, 11, of Plank Road passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday September 1, 2015 following many years of illness. Born in North Adams, MA., Adam was the beloved son of Leon and Julie Johnson Morse Jr. Adam was a fifth grade student through the Berlin Elementary School. He enjoyed playing Dragon Ball Z, Pokeman and with his cars. Adam had been a Make A Wish recipient having met Tanner Foust.

Adam was the grandson of the late Leon Morse Sr. Adam’s feline friend Rays the Cat was also waiting for Adam’s arrival after having recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Survivors, in addition to his Mom and Dad, include his siblings David Morse of Hoosick, Mark, Jacob, Jonathan, Elise and Danielle Morse all of Berlin, his grandmother Barbara Morse of Hancock, Massachusetts, and several aunts uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends called at the First Baptist Church in Berlin in the morning on Friday September 4, and a funeral service was held at noon.

Interment will be private at the Berlin Community Cemetery.

Stephentown -Donald R. Sweet went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 21, 2015.
