Toward the end of the Berlin Town Board meeting on Thursday, March 12, Richard VonSchilgen thanked the Town for its response to his complaint about rats in his rental units on Main Street across from the Town Hall, a problem, he says, that is caused by a neighbor who dumps refuse and garbage in the lot behind VonSchilgen’s building. A Rabies Clinic will be held on Thursday, April 23, at the Berlin Highway Garage on Route 22 in Berlin. All rabies vaccines, dog-DHLPP vaccines and cat-FURCP vaccines cost $10 each; cash only! The Town of Berlin Comprehensive Plan Committee held its kickoff public meeting on March 9, at which it introduced itself and the consultants from C.T. Male Associates who will be working on the project and gave a general overview of the process that will lead to a formal comprehensive plan being written and adopted by the Town.
The Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center has received a grant though the United States Forest Service called “Healthy Kids/Healthy Habitats.” The grant promotes “More Kids in the Woods” or more hands-on outdoor experiences for kids in the Berlin and Troy School Districts.
