Berlin Rescue Squad Dinner

On Friday, March 6, the Berlin Rescue Squad will be holding its first of two dinners for Lent.  It will start at 5 pm and end at 7:30 pm.  We will be serving a Fish Fry on a roll with French fries, coleslaw and a beverage.  You can get this great meal for only $10.  We would like to thank all of the supporters that came out for our Hot Dog dinner and hope to see more friendly faces on the 6th.  Please come and support a great cause.

Cherry Plain Family In 24 Hour Snowmobile Ride For Cystic Fibrosis

Bill, Tony and Lisa Hammersmith left their house in Cherry Plain at 12:30 am on Saturday, February 7, and drove to Woodford, VT, where the 4th Vermont Border to Border in 24 Hours for CF was to start. The whole ride would be on the VAST (Vermont Association of Snow Travelers) trail system. Registration started at 2 am and the first snowmobiles left at 4 am. Bill and Tony left the starting line at around 4:30 am from about the 130th place position out of 203 other sleds to ride about 350 miles to the Canadian Border in Norton, VT. Vivian I. Millard

Johnsonville – Vivian I. Millard, 77, died Sunday, February 8, 2009, at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY. Vivian resided in Johnsonville, NY, with her companion and best friend Charles Russell. Her husband Ralph Millard died in 1993.
