Cherry Plain Balloon Test
This three foot diameter weather balloon was raised to a height of 141 feet above the Levy property on Cherry Plain Hill Road last week so residents could judge the impact of the cell phone tower proposed by Verizon for that location. Just imagine a tower from the balloon to the ground. Neighbors have serious concerns about health issues and about losing the rural character of the area. Photo courtesy of Julie Harrell.

Hugs For Cadien
Jerusha Wescott Jarvis was raised in Petersburgh and graduated from Berlin Central School in 1992. She married Randy Jarvis and lives in Schaghticoke now. Jerusha’s parents, Audrey Bartus and Elmer Wescott, still live in Petersburgh and Berlin respectively. Randy and Jerusha have three children, Adana, and four year old twins, Cadien and Arianna. Cadien has been diagnosed with a rare Mitochondrial Disease and is very ill.

Folmsbee Van Was On Seasonal Road In Violation Of Contract

The driver of a school bus van that got stuck in the snow last Thursday, January 8 should never have been on that road, according to Rensselaer County spokesman Chris Meyer. The van got stuck on a seasonal portion of North Moore Hill Road in North Stephentown. Seasonal roads are not plowed in winter and are officially closed to traffic from October 15 to April 15.
