HAYC3 Asks For Nominations For Outstanding Young People

HAYC3 is seeking nominations for its annual Youth Recognition Ceremony. Outstanding young people in the Hoosick community are recognized by HAYC3 each year for their volunteer service, community spirit and positive leadership abilities. The recognition ceremony will take place during the 4th Annual Pumpkinpalooza. Recipients will be presented with an award certificate at the gazebo in Wood Park on Saturday, September 29, at 11:30 am. The public is welcome to attend to help honor these outstanding young people.

Water Shortage Ongoing In Hoosick Falls

Hoosick Falls Water Superintendent Jim Hurlburt said Wednesday, “The one and a half inches of rain we have had in the last two weeks hasn’t made a bit of difference.” Luckily the rain did soak into the ground to relieve the stress on lawns.
The Hoosic River looks lower as well. It’s a far cry from the flood conditions that existed a year ago this week.

Patire Closes Up Shop

“The time was right,” said Bruce Patire on Monday, August 20, as he sat in his office in the now closed Patire Chevrolet-Oldsmobile Buick, Inc. “The impetus was when Tinkham Real Estate became part of Prudential Commercial and they approached me. Deadline Looms For HFCC Men’s Invitational Golf

The Hoosick Falls Country Club Men’s Invitational Golf Tournament will be held on September 8 and 9. It is a 36 hole medal play tournament with a two day flighted skins game and team buys in each flight. The deadline is Monday, September 3. You will not officially be in the field until your fee is paid.

Find The Gnome And Win $250

Pumpkinpalooza 4 is adding “No Place Like Gnome” to Pumpkinpalooza 4. No Place Like Gnome is a two week gnome hunt in Hoosick. One bright orange gnome will be hidden in a secret location in the Hoosick Community. Each day a riddled clue pertaining to the gnome’s whereabouts will be posted on www.HAYC3.org. The first clue will be posted on September 15. The person who finds the No Place Like Gnome gnome will win $250. Check out Thorpe’s Pharmacy’s window for sneak peak of the Pumpkinpalooza gnome. Brush up on your local history, Hoosick geography and rhetoric.  September 15 is fast approaching!
