Hoosick Falls Village Board Meeting Postponed

• January 6 – Burglary on Carey Avenue – copper piping was cut out of house and stolen.
[private]• January 6 –  Arrest for Harassment and Criminal Contempt 2nd.  Officers responded to a residence on Wilder Avenue for a reported Domestic Dispute. Arrested for Harassment 2nd and Criminal Contempt 2nd was Earl F. Hunt, Jr.  Subject was arraigned and released to reappear in court on January 12.[/private]

Update: Irish Stew Cook-Off, Irish Music And Irish Basket Bingo

The Hoosick Falls St. Patrick’s Parade Committee will host three events on Saturday, January 14. An Irish Stew Cook-Off will be held from 11 am to 12:30 pm. Bring it on! Let’s see who makes the best Irish stew in the area. There is a $25 entry fee. Prizes will be awarded. The Best Irish Stew King or Queen will be honored in the Hoosick Falls St. Patrick’s Parade. Hoosick Falls Police And Fire Departments In Action This December

Hoosick Falls Police Chief Robert Ashe said the Department had a DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) Patrol on Thursday, December 29. “There were no DWIs,” he said, “but we issued 16 tickets from everything from unlicensed operator to not wearing a seatbelt.” The holiday season was very quiet, he added. The month, however was not without incident.

A Tour Of The Hoosick Falls Armory

Jim Warren of New York's State Historic Preservation Office answered questions and toured the Hoosick Falls Armory with the Save the Armory Committee Wednesday evening. They took time to look at the building’s heating system. The cost of heating the building will be one determining factor in continuing to use the facility as a Town Hall. Hats For Cancer In Memory Of Susan Greenberg

The kindergarten class at St. Mary’s Academy recently held a Hats For Cancer fund-raiser in memory of their beloved teacher, Susan Greenberg, who passed away this past fall after a brief battle with cancer.  Mrs. Greenberg was an assistant in the pre-k classroom at SMA last year. Her students in the current kindergarten class wanted to do something to honor her memory.
