Pumpkinpalooza Pancake Breakfast

The Hoosick Girl Scouts will host a pancake breakfast during the 3rd Annual Hoosick Pumpkinpalooza. They will be serving pancakes, juice and coffee under the tent at the Town of Hoosick Athletic Fields before and during this year’s Punkin’ Chunkin’ event.

On September 11, while most of us sat stunned in front of our television sets, Hoosick Falls resident Brian Rousseau went into action. Rousseau is a Leader of the Capital District Regional Urban/Technical Search and Rescue Response Team (U/TSAR), which is an elite group of rescue specialists. Within hours his team of 100 and their fleet of five trucks had left their headquarters in Albany and were at Ground Zero, where the team remained for the next 16 days.

Hoosick And Hoosick Falls Mostly Spared By Hurricane Irene

Residents of the Town of Hoosick and the Village of Hoosick Falls are counting their blessings after Hurricane Irene. Compared to neighboring communities such as Petersburgh, Grafton, Bennington and Troy, the Town and Village were relatively unscathed. Rain from the west fell in Hoosick on and off late Saturday afternoon and evening, then stopped. Sometime after midnight the steady rain from Irene began and was continuous until late Sunday evening. When the rain stopped, the winds picked up, though they were not as severe as anticipated.

Hoosick Falls Health Center’s Annual Resident And Family Picnic

Friends Of The Cheney Library To Meet September 6

After School Care Offered At Hoosick Area Youth Center

Katherine Stevenson Graduates From Cedar Crest College

Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA, held commencement exercises for approximately 430 Bachelor’s and Master’s degree recipients on May 14. Graduates included students from the traditional women’s college as well as men and women from the School of Adult and Graduate Education. Katherine E. Stevenson of Hoosick Falls graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education.
