St. Mary’s Academy will be hosting another one of its fantastic Friday night dinners on Friday, January 7, (snow date January 8). Dinner includes spiral baked ham, potatoes, vegetable, coffee and dessert. Dinner will be served in the St. Mary’s Academy gym from 5 to 7 pm (or until supplies last). Dinners cost $10 for adults, $5 for kids 10 and under.
Take-out is available, or join us in the gym for dinner. All are welcome, we even have a coloring area for kids. Take the night off and let us cook and clean up. For more information, please call 518-686-4314 ext. 202.

Hoosick Falls Health Center, Inc. Annual Meeting Notice
The Annual Meeting of the Hoosick Falls Health Center, Inc., for the purpose of electing a Board of Directors and to transact any other business as may properly come before it, will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 7 pm at the Health Center, 21 Danforth Street, Hoosick Falls, NY.
Any person who has contributed to the Health Center in the previous year is entitled to be present and to vote.
The Hoosick Falls Health Center provides care to anyone who can benefit from its services regardless of race, creed, color, national origin, blindness, sexual orientation, handicap or source of payment.
Holiday Raffle Winners Announced
To help encourage local shopping, the Hoosick Area Youth Center & Community Coalition organized a shopping incentive this season. Anyone who spent $5 or more at a participating business on Friday, December 10, (the night of the lighted Christmas Parade and visit from Santa) was eligible to enter a free drawing for gift certificates to be spent locally.
The winners were Ann Bornt ($50), Joan O’Neil ($25) and Jo Centanni ($25). All three winners are from Hoosick Falls. Congratulations!

Hoosick Falls – George W. Lavin, 82, passed away on December 25, 2010, at the Centers for Living & Rehabilitation in Bennington, VT. He was the son of the late Paul and Catherine (Fennessey) Lavin.

St. Mark’s Winter Concert
Musicians Susan Harwood, Will Hayes, J. Nixon McMillan and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church invite you to a winter afternoon concert on Sunday, January 16, at 4 pm. The concert will feature “three musical addicts” performing great tunes by great composers – the vocal Music of Bach-Gounod, Handel, Faurè and Cèsar Franck, the cello Music of Bach and Vivaldi and the organ Music of Georgi Mushel.

Fire At Saint-Gobain

Hoosick Falls Fire Chief Robert Bornt said four departments responded to a fire call at Saint-Gobain on McCaffrey St. in Hoosick Falls at 4:30 am Friday, December 17. Two calls were received, said Bornt, one from the plant and another from a cell phone stating there was a fire on the roof of the building. HF Junior Girl Scouts’ Christmas Cookie Exchange
Junior Girl Scout Troop 1104’s First Annual Christmas Cookie Exchange took place Wednesday evening, December 15, at the Immaculate Conception Church’s St. Joseph’s Room during their holiday party.
After their opening Pledge of Allegiance and Girl Scout Promise the scouts settled down to the movie, “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas,” nibbled popcorn, played games, made handmade holiday cards and personalized name signs.
